# GPTClip > GPTClip is a small AutoHotkey v2 script for Windows. You click Copy on a ChatGPT code block (or select it and press Ctrl+C), press Ctrl+Alt+N, and the code is pasted into a new Notepad++ file (an empty chatgpt_.txt the script creates in its scratch folder; press Ctrl+S to save the code into it). It is made for hobby coders who write code in the ChatGPT chat window rather than in an IDE. It works with anything you can copy as text, so code from Claude, Gemini or Copilot works too. ## Get it - [Download (pay what you want, $0 is fine)](https://successbycs.gumroad.com/l/fwcsng): the script, setup guide and troubleshooting notes. - [Setup session ($49, one-off)](https://buy.stripe.com/dRmdR83UGbJEc1Ra2EdMI00): Chris installs it with you on a call, sets your hotkey and fixes Notepad++ path problems. - [Demo video](https://youtu.be/9T0IWMj7WTE) ## Facts - Platform: Windows only (AutoHotkey runs only on Windows). Not available for Mac or Linux. - Requires: AutoHotkey v2 and Notepad++, both free. - Hotkeys: Ctrl+Alt+N sends the clipboard to a new Notepad++ file; Ctrl+Alt+T shows a popup if the script is running; Ctrl+Alt+L opens the run log; Ctrl+Alt+R reloads the script. - The hotkey can be changed by editing one line near the top of the script. - Browser: any. It works from the clipboard, not the browser. - Privacy: it does not connect to the internet, and it only touches the clipboard and Notepad++ when you press Ctrl+Alt+N. When it starts it shows a tray notice and deletes old scratch files. Each paste opens in a new .txt file in its scratch folder (files older than 30 days are deleted at startup and after each paste) and logs each run's time and result, never the code. - Editors: Notepad++ only in version 1. No VS Code support yet. ## Who made it Chris Sparshott, [SuccessByCS](https://www.successbycs.com/), New Zealand.
